Temporary Visas

Work

Work visas are for applicants that wish to work in New Zealand. 

What you need: 
  • To apply for a work visa, you will need to obtain a job offer from a New Zealand employer. 
  • The employer must ensure that the position has been advertised to a New Zealand resident or citizen before you lodge your visa application to Immigration New Zealand. 
  • You will need to submit that evidence to Immigration New Zealand.

Study

Student visas are for applicants that wish to study in New Zealand. 

What you need: 
  • To apply for a student visa, you will need to have an offer of place with a registered New Zealand education provider. 
  • You will also need to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to maintain your stay.

Visit

Visitor visas are for applicants that wish to holiday in New Zealand. 

What you need: 
  • To apply for a visitor visa, you will need to have sufficient funds to demonstrate you are able to maintain your stay in New Zealand. 
  • You will also need to demonstrate that you genuinely intend to visit New Zealand and are here for a lawful purpose. 

There are many other requirements and documentation that you will need to submit.We can provide you with advice on how you can demonstrate you are a bonafide applicant.

Limited Visas 

Limited visas are for applicants that would normally not meet temporary visa instructions and are in New Zealand for an express purpose. 

What you need to know: 
  • Limited visas are not normally desired by visa applicants since you normally are unable to apply for another visa after your visa expiry date.
  • However, limited visas are generally applied for by visa applicants who have a genuine express purpose and to manage the risk that those applicants will leave New Zealand after their visa expiry date. 
  • Limited visas are usually applied for by visa applicants that are not in New Zealand at the time the application is made.
